Just another Sunday

Today has been pretty uneventful but a great day overall!

This morning I went to church for the second contemporary service and that was pretty good overall! After that, I spent a few minutes catching up with one of my best friends, Logan. I think it's pretty safe to say we are both ready for school to start!

After church, I came home and had one awesome meal cooked by Nita. Pulled pork, baked beans, and collard greens! Comfort food at its finest!

I was a slacker today and didn't go to the gym because me and my sister has something more important to tend to... TIE DYE! We are making these....

I got the idea from adventuresofamiddlesister.blogspot.com. She has a lot of awesome ideas and this one is going to be perfect for the two beach trips that I am taking this month! Right now they are sitting in the plastic bags and waiting for us to rinse and wash them! I cannot wait to see what they end up looking like!

Since then, not much has happened today! I did a little ab and arm work a few minutes ago because I couldn't stand that I didn't go to the gym today and now the family is watching Law & Order: SVU. (BEST SHOW)

Tomorrow starts another week at Camp and I can't wait to see how this week goes! I need to figure out what to get my secret pal this week!

Summer time and the living is easy

It's SUMMER TIME!

... and this summer, I get to be a camp counselor! I absolutely love it!

Also this summer, I get to see my roommates twice in one month! Craziness!! Too bad the first time is 6 days away! Me and Kass are headed to OBX to see Cori and her family for the weekend next Friday! I've never been so excited for a roadtrip!

Two weeks after that, we are going to Virginia Beach to celebrate Cori's 21st birthday! Heck Yeah! I can't wait for that either!

I've already been to the beach once this summer and then two more this coming month! Three beach trips in one summer... This has never happened to me before and it's so EXCITING!

Other than those two trips, summer will be spent at camp and that is also perfectly fine because I work with some pretty awesome people and I get to attempt to give kids a great summer experience!

I am so very blessed to have everything I have and to be able to have this summer go the way it is going. Even on the long and busy days, I still have nothing to complain about.

I couldn't ask for a better summer.

I have an excellent father. His strength is making me stronger.

Father's Day was on the 16th. Many of you already know but I am the biggest Daddy's Girl that has ever walked the face of this planet. But I think I have good reason. If you've met my dad, you know why. I'm sure many people know different sides of my dad.

There's the Marine.

  • Always on time and never under-dressed. Perfectly professional and always polite.
There's the professional.
  • Always a tie on. Can't escape his phone. Best provider.
Then there's the side of him that only his children and wife know.
The biggest fan and giver of grace (sounds cheesy but it is so true!)
  • Always there. Problem solver. Best hug giver. Joke teller. Biggest fan.
This is the guy that me and my sister's have the blessing of calling "daddy". He is wonderful inside and out and I can't imagine having anyone else in that position. He has been my super hero for 21 years and he always will be. I know I can go to him for anything and everything that I ever need and he will meet me with open arms and positive advice. And if my problem includes a stupid boy, well... you can probably guess what happens then.

Anyway, I don't know how else to say that I have the greatest Dad in the world and no one could ever compare.

Happy Father's Day, Daddy! (a few weeks late but we got to celebrate on that day too!)

'Twas the Sunday after Christmas and all through the house, the TVs were ready for the Skins game...

I realized that I haven't made a post on here in over a week! No goood...

It has been a crazy amazing Christmas week :) We had Christmas with my dad's family on the 23rd and that was a lot of fun as usual! When everyone in my family gets together, it is always a good time! We exchanged gifts and Christie and Benny both liked their gifts from my sister and I. Then we came home and did a little shopping for some last minute gifts and were successful! I think everyone loved all the gifts they got this year!

Then on Christmas morning we woke up at 8 and opened presents. It was Abby, Christie, Nita, Dad, and I and we all took turns around the room. (: Again, I think everyone loved all the presents they received from "Santa Claus".

Now for the big announcement!! --- At 4:59pm on December 27th, the world became a sweeter, cuter place with the arrival of Miss Lydia Grace (: MY NIECE WAS BORN! She is nothing short of perfect and she is precious in every way!

Once we got home from visiting my sister, brother-in-law and niece... my step brother and sister-in-law were in town and we spent a few days with them. They gave me a gift card to Bath & Body Works and a candle and some shower gel from Bath & Body Works (: So I went to BBW and got another candle and an air freshener for my car (: LOVE THEM ALL! Also, in that same shopping trip, I got a satchel for going out for 7 dollars at American Eagle!

Finally, to top the week off, my Lilly Pulitzer iPhone case came in the mail yesterday! THANK GOODNESS! I LOVEEEE IT!

Most of all, though, spending time with my family made this the best week of the year! We had a great time enjoying each other's company! I don't know what I would do without them and my friends!

(Speaking of that, I am so excited to see my friends from school!!! It has been WAY too long!!)

It has been one great Christmas week and I couldn't be happier (:

Merry Christmas! *MM

12/20/12

THE END OF THE WORLD!!!
hahahah, I think we're going to live!

It's 1:40 in the morning and I am just now considering going to bed. It's been a good day (: I babysat my favorite kids ever this afternoon and then worked out and then went to pick up my little sister from school! OH WAIT, she decided to ride the bus home and forget that we were picking her up =P SILLY! Oh well, we still had a good afternoon getting hair stuff and eating Chinese for dinner! We got Lo Mien (is that how you spell that?!) and steamed dumplings! YUM! China Taste is the best! Since then I've been studying for an exam that I got an A on and talking to friends on facebook! So, as y'all can tell, it's been a slow day but a great day! Thankful for the slow but great days in my life!

What I Love About Sundays

Today has been pretty long!

Last night, my friend, Amanda, came home for her Christmas break and so I went and stayed at her house and we hung out with her brother, Nick, and watched the movie Ted. Interesting movie to say the least but definitely not as funny as people have said it would be. We were going to watch a scary movie but all of them looked too gross! Anyway, we were up way late and of course we ended up sleeping right through church this morning.

So then, when I got home I decided I needed to start off my day in some sort of productive way so I went ahead and did my Insanity work out for the day! I have to say it was the hardest work out so far but it wasn't too bad so that was good and I only have one more day til rest day! What they say about those workouts is right! IT IS INSANEE! but it is definitely a good workout.

THEN, at 5pm we had our Church Christmas Concert so that was a nice little break from reality to get to go and listen to the Adult, Youth, Children, and Preschool choirs along with the Praise Band which is our contemporary band. As usual, the adult choir was SO amazing as were the children and youth choir. However, the preschool choir was SOOO cute! They had little bells that they were ringing as they sang and I think maybe 3 out of the 10 children were actually singing. TOO CUTE!

Anyway, we ended our day with coming up with what to make our older sister for Christmas and, see, I would say it on here but then she might see and that just isn't okay! SO, I guess no one will know til she gets it!

So pretty much, this day was a typical Sunday and I couldn't be anymore thankful for that!

'Til next time, *MM

Simply Blessed

Today seemed as if it was going to end sadly after watching all the broadcasts of the shooting today but then my friends reminded me the great times there are to be had...

SNAP CHAT... oh gosh, I don't know if y'all have heard of it or used it but I'm addicted and LAWD help us if someone ever screenshots our pictures we send! (the embarrassing faces people would have as blackmail!) Either way, one of my best friends Amanda and another one of my best friends, Logan were both sending me snapchats and as stupid as the whole concept is... it really does make you happier just being stupid with your friends! (I know... nothing special!)

I got some shopping done tonight (: My family has a big get together every year for Christmas and on the Thanksgiving prior, we draw names (this year I just made a chart for us) to see who will buy gifts for who. I got my step sister Christie and my little sister got our cousin Benny! The gift we got for Benny was definitely not what we had in mind when we left the house, but our Aunt assured us that he would love it! I guess we will see! My gift for Christie was pretty easy to find and I think she will love it!!

We also found our dresses for Christmas Eve and probably the Christmas concert at church this Sunday night! Can y'all believe our dresses were 18 dollars total!!! THAT IS NINE DOLLARS EACH! crazyyyy! You have to loveee bargain shopping! I can't wait for Sunday either when I can finally wear my dress!

I found out today that I will hopefully be an aunt next week!!!!!!! I don't think I can actually put into words how excited I am for this! I think my sister is getting tired of me telling her to "Get on it!". *as if she can make the baby come sooner* I am just so excited!!

Anyway, when I take a step back today... I have so much to be thankful for! And I wouldn't change a single thing!

'Til next time - *MM
